Welcome to my classroom!  Enthusiastic—that’s the word that’s been used to describe me since kindergarten.  I brought this enthusiasm to Oxford in the fall of 1995 when I began my teaching career.  During my first year of teaching I won the Sallie Mae Outstanding New Teacher of the year award.  Since that year, I have worn many hats in the district.  I directed the middle school drama program for ten years, served on a variety of committees, and led our school web development team, known fondly as The Web Ambassadors.  Currently, I serve on the Teacher Leader Team for the Middle School.

I have taught seventh grade language arts and social studies.  My degree in Social Studies Education has allowed me to travel to Japan, Korea, and Germany on teacher ambassador trips.  I have also traveled to Italy, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Finland, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Mexico, as part of volunteer missions.  Traveling is one of my favorite hobbies.

In 2004, I began my Ph.D. in Instructional Technology.  It is through my instruction there that I have developed and designed state-wide courses for teachers through Michigan Virtual University’s Learnport.  Currently, I teach graduate courses for the University as I complete my Ph.D. coursework.
