JOINED OXFORD COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
August 2007

I have been teaching Special Needs students for over 22 years in various states including New Mexico, Georgia, and Michigan.  My number one goal is to help students become their biggest advocate.  I encourage them to become aware of their learning difficulties and learning strengths in order to help them do their very best in school and life.  I encourage families to become involved in their children’s education process and assist them with any support they may need to succeed.  Over the years I have been a team coach for Special Olympics, Cheerleader sponsor, Member of the Council for  Exceptional Children, worked with a supported job-training site in the community for moderate and severely handicapped students, and volunteered in many classrooms from K-8th grade.

I was born in Ohio, but raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  I have lived in several different states and relocated back to Michigan.  I am married and the mother of three sons.  My family is very active in sports, church, and school activities.  We love to travel, spend time with extended family, and explore new places and activities in our travels. When I am not working, I love to read, attend music concerts, watch plays, go to the movies, and attend my sons many activities.
