Welcome to my classroom!  I am excited to join the Oxford Middle School team. My passion is being part of a team that puts students first.  By being purpose driven as we develop students, we can turn potential into reality in and outside of the classroom.

Prior to joining Oxford Community Schools, I served as a special education teacher for ten years at Avondale High School where I also sponsored the Diversity Club, co-taught Student Leadership, as well as served as the Transition Coordinator.  Additionally, I bring experience teaching at both East Detroit High School and Cherry Hill School of Performing Arts.  Throughout my career I have been committed to efforts that are focused on best practice and innovation in education.

Overall, my development as an educator has been supported by understanding the unique strengths of each individual to make progression common goals.  I am a certified True Colors facilitator as well as a facilitator of Different People Common Ground.

Outside of the school year, I challenge myself with international travel that is focused on educational development and global impact.  Completing a semester of teaching in Rajgarh, India in 2001 inspired my love of teaching internationally.
