I feel privileged to teach in the Oxford Community. I began my career as the district athletic trainer in fall of 2000 and through this field I found out what I loved the most about it was educating my parents and athletes about their bodies and injuries. I decided to purse my teaching certification from Saginaw Valley State University and graduated with a degree in biology and chemistry.
This educational background has given me a great perspective on how to work with students of all ages and different learning abilities. My philosophy for learning is that each child is exceptional, and each child learns in a different way. One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside with them to maximize it. I believe in hands-on experiences, learning creatively and learning how to problem solve. I a really looking forward to a fun-filled and educational year!
