JOINED OXFORD COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
August 1995

Welcome to my classroom!  I feel honored to have the privilege of working with your child, and I look forward to an exciting year of teaching and learning. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself and my goals as an educator. I have taught for Oxford Community Schools since 1995.  My experience has include teaching sixth grade, third grade, fifth grade and eighth grade.

My mission as an educator is to create a learning environment where the students can build upon their self-esteem, self-control, and responsibility. I believe that patient, supportive guidance will bring out the best in all students. I encourage students to think for themselves, and yet at the same time I try to emphasize the importance of others’ contributions. I believe that students should have the understanding of their strengths, and also notice areas where further improvement is needed. I will try to provide a risk free environment and will be a positive role model for your child, while continually striving for excellence in my teaching.

As a teacher I value the partnership between home and school. I am very proud to be working in such a dynamic school as Oxford Middle School. It is a wonderful place for a student to learn and I am anticipating a terrific school year.

I am married and have two beautiful daughters. I enjoy sports and horseback riding.
