Hello, my name is Natalie Daversa and I have been teaching in Oxford since 2003, and what a wonderful experience it has been!

In 2008, I had the pleasure of being certified in a new innovative engineering program, Project Lead the Way®. This program addresses the interest and energy of middle school students, while incorporating national standards in math, science and technology. PLTW® is "activity oriented" to show students how technology is used in engineering to solve everyday problems. The units are designed to excite and motivate students to use their imaginations and teach them to be creative and innovative, while gaining the skills they need to develop, produce and use products and services. I absolutely love teaching this program.

It is amazing to read about the new advances in technology. I continually take classes, workshops, and seminars to learn what’s new, not only in technology, but also in education. With the world changing faster than ever it is imperative that education changes as well. Oxford’s initiative to become an International Baccalaureate school and a Model School shows that we are on track to providing a rigorous and cutting-edge education for all of our students. My goal is to also make learning fun so that students want to learn more.

Outside of teaching, in my quest to remain balanced, I instruct fitness classes such as aerobics, Pilates, weightlifting, yoga, and Zumba® at Bally Total Fitness and a couple of other gyms and facilities.  I also enjoy dancing ballet, ballroom, and Latin dances and I love playing volleyball and softball.

My life would not be complete without the love and support of my family and friends. I am married to my wonderful, caring husband and we have two sweet, adorable children. We love to travel and attend our kids’ classes and events.

As a mom, I can empathize with some of the challenges parenthood presents, and will do all I can to ensure your child’s success in my classroom. If you have any concerns, please e-mail me and I look forward to being your child’s PLTW teacher.
