Dear OMS Families,
I am writing to inform you that Mr. Malmquist, the principal of Oxford High School, has made the decision to step down from his role for personal reasons. While transitions can be difficult, we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
Our district holds itself to high standards, and while this is a shift, we are confident that the moves we’ve outlined below will draw upon our district’s strengths and leadership talent to ensure continued support for our students and staff.
- Mr. Brad Bigelow, current principal of Oxford Middle School, will step into the role of interim principal at Oxford High School. Having served as principal for many of our high school students during their middle and elementary school years, Mr. Bigelow is excited for the opportunity to reconnect and looks forward to seeing so many familiar faces. Learn more about Mr. Bigelow.
- Mrs. Kristie Saterstad, current assistant principal at Oxford Middle School, will step into the role of interim principal at OMS. As a well-qualified and enthusiastic leader, Mrs. Saterstad is committed to fostering excellence, further strengthening the school community, and carrying on Wildcat traditions. Learn more about Mrs. Saterstad.
These changes will take effect on Monday, November 4, 2024.
Transitions like these can be challenging, especially for students who have built strong relationships with trusted adults. We encourage you to have open conversations with your children about how they may feel about these changes. Please remember that our administrative and wellness teams are here to support your students with this transition and any challenges they continue to face due to the events of last Thursday. I have attached information about additional resources if needed.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tonya Milligan, Superintendent
Oxford Community Schools
