In addition, I'd like to take this opportunity to address a situation that recently occurred within our Oxford Community.
Unfortunately, several of our OMS students were present and possibly involved in a situation at Frosty Boy yesterday evening. We encourage our parents to continue being vigilant of the whereabouts and activities of their students outside of school hours and encourage them to report immediately any threatening or unsafe behaviors they may observe. Additionally, please closely monitor any social media interactions your student might have and report any threatening messages. We understand the value of students having a device in order to communicate with family. We are constantly having discussions with students at school about appropriate cell phone usage, including social media activity, posts, videos, etc. During grade level meetings last week with students, they were reminded that inappropriate usage of social media outside of school could potentially lead to school consequences should their social media activities disrupt the school environment. We appreciate your diligence in this matter.
