JOINED OXFORD COMMUNITY SCHOOLS
September 2010
I happily joined Oxford Community Schools in the fall of 2010 as a Language Arts teacher. I received my certification through Oakland University in the spring of 2008, and as of 2012, my Masters of Art in Teaching degree will be completed through Oakland University as well. I am thankful for the experiences I received throughout my courses and from the mentoring of teachers and professors alike. Prior to attending Oakland University, I received my Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University. During my time at Central, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad at Lancaster University in the northwest Lake District of England. I have learned so much through my various experiences and educational journey. I am excited to bring what I have learned into the classroom by encouraging and guiding students into greater knowledge and understanding of language arts and how it influences their lives.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family and friends. I enjoy travel and being outdoors, hiking in our local parks. I also enjoy quiet moments when I get to curl up in a comfortable chair, sip on a latte and read classics like Dickens or Austin.
