I have been teaching the middle grades since 2003, including 6th and 8th grades. Previously, I have taught science and social studies. My background in reading and language arts gives me a well-rounded view of students as learners. I strive to encourage students to use their prior experiences and inquiry into new experiences to form a new conception of the world around them.
I have been married since 2004 and have two wonderful boys, a dog, and a cat. We love to travel Michigan to find new adventures in our own backyard. I also love to read, craft, and watch movies.
