December 10, Today & Week of 12/13 Notes

Dear Oxford Middle School Families,

Please thank your children for a great day today. They were engaged, compassionate, and loving (to the dogs, especially!).  We look forward to next week - see below for Santa Shop and Spirit Days!

I'd like to remind families of our "No Bag" / no Chromebook policy for next week - and some clarification:

  • Lunch containers and sports bags are allowed - those will be checked by staff upon entry to the building, and then they are to go into lockers
  • Purses that are smaller than a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 paper are allowed - those will be checked by staff upon entry to the building, and then they are to go into lockers
  • Instruments must be brought on Monday and can be left in the building until Friday afternoon - those will be checked by staff upon entry to the building, and then they are to go to the music rooms
  • Water bottles are allowed (our drinking fountains and filling stations are functional)
  • Gifts for staff are allowed - those will be checked by staff upon entry to the building, and can be delivered to teachers or given to the office for mailboxes

We were so blessed to have therapy dogs from the Brighton Area Schools join us today and next week. Your children met Keeper, Jack, Scout, Martha, Oliver, Henry, Buckley, Hope, Oscar, Shadow, Duncan, Allie, Chevy and Tucker!   The kids weren't the only ones happy to see them -- our staff loved every minute. The Brighton Pack of Dogs have been trained to provide social emotional support to those in need. The dogs and handlers have experience with troubling times and each dog provides a unique opportunity for people to communicate their feelings and to relieve stress or tension. They enjoyed their day with our Wildcats - snuggling, listening and playing.

We hope you have a weekend full of love and healing.

Sincerely,

Dacia Beazley, Principal
