This Saturday, over 160 DK through 3rd-grade students and their families joined us at Oxford Elementary School for the First Lego League Explore Expo, a fun-filled day of STEM activities! 💡🤖. Students got hands-on with driving robots, button-making, and even decorating LEGO glasses—just a few of the exciting activities they enjoyed!
🛠️ Teams showcased their amazing creations and were thrilled to check out the incredible robots from our middle and high school robotics teams. Special shout-out to our older students for also stepping up as volunteers at each station to help make the day even more special!
A HUGE thank you to Shannon Shafer, our elementary and middle school robotics coordinator, for organizing such a smooth and inspiring event. 🙌💙 #OCSWildcats #WorldClassWildcats

🌟Seventh-grade students had an unforgettable experience in the media center this week as they began a creative and engaging preview of The Outsiders. Thanks to the efforts of Dr. Catherine Willoughby, K-8 Media Specialist, students truly brought the story to life.
During class time, students:
📔Listened to an interview with the author.
📔Dressed up in period-themed clothing and took fun selfies.
📔Illustrated character drawings based on vivid descriptions from the book.
📔Watched a 1960s movie at a Drive-In featuring Paul Newman to capture the era's essence.
This hands-on approach not only introduces the book but also sparks curiosity and makes literature exciting.👏

Her own disposition and joy in the field is contagious, and she regularly sees ways to meet students at their level and then advance it. Her activities are a strong mix of great modalities in an effort to meet the needs of all her learners, and she continuously and patiently pushes all her students towards betterment.👏 #OCSWildcats #WorldClassWildcats

School social workers are the heart 💛 of our schools. They step in when students are struggling, providing support, resources, and hope when it’s needed most. Their impact is immeasurable—helping families navigate challenges, working alongside staff to remove barriers to learning, and being a trusted presence for students.
To our school social workers: Thank you for your dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to our students. Your work changes lives, and we are beyond grateful for all you do! 👏. While last week was School Social Workers' Week, we appreciate you every day!

OHS student, athlete, and mentor Nolan Mauser took time this week to connect with our middle school students, showing the power of positive role models. As part of their "Personal Best" unit in 6th grade ELA, students have been reflecting on the qualities that make someone a great leader. OMS students, including Chase Clark, look up to our OHS Wildcats as role models, and today was a great opportunity to see that leadership in action.
Not only did Nolan take time to meet with Chase, he also spoke with our 8th grade WEB leaders about the importance of leadership and how even the smallest interactions can make a difference. We are so proud of him for stepping up as a mentor and setting an example for our younger Wildcats! 👏 #OCSWildcats #WorldclassWildcats
